Georgie Campbell wants to warn all UWC members that the internet site, www.spokeo.com, has your name and personal information such as family members, address, phone number, aerial photo of your house, house value, etc. all online for the world to view. For a few dollars, internet users can get even more information on you. There is a way to delete your information from this site by doing the following:
- Go to the site, enter your name and get your personal information to come up on the screen.
- Click and copy the URL address of your information screen (located at the top of the screen on the left side next to the double arrows).
- Click on “Privacy” located at the bottom of the screen on the right side.
A new screen will appear and will ask for the URL address, email address and the funny looking code that appears next to the code box. So paste the URL address that you copied in step 2 into the first box next to URL: (for example, http://www.spokeo.com/search?q=earl%20campbell#:1719800787/info).
- Enter your email address. A confirmation email will come to this address from Spokeo.
- Type the funny looking code into the code box.
- Go to your email and receive the email message from Spokeo and click on “click here” to remove your information.
- Go to the site and double check that your information was removed by trying to enter your name. It should be gone.

What a Great Event! I want to thank Karen Diamond for hosting the Dustmuffin fundraiser. It was a fantastic successful event that raised over $700 for the UWC! It was so fun to have a leisurely afternoon shopping and visiting, while sipping wine and eating delicious treats at Karen’s beautiful home. The very affordable vintage and art-deco jewelry items were beautiful and so unique, and Diana Jacobs of the Dustmuffin was on hand to give the history of each piece. I was at a loss as to what to get several of my girl friends for Christmas, but found some very charming vintage brass pins and a necklace with vintage beadwork and brass lockets. They all have dogs who are their babies, so I included a photo of each dog inside the locket. The pins may adorn their purses, belts, jean pockets, lapels, scarves, hats and are perfect for their no fuss taste. I even bought some for myself (Merry Xmas, me!) and they adorn my purse- purse jewelry, great idea!

At the end of January and into February, he will be in LION IN WINTER at the Denver Center.
Some of you saw him in OPUS at the Curious and as Edgar in last summer’s LEAR and asked to be reminded.

Save Open Space Boulder is a group of Boulder citizens who strongly support our Open Space program and who now have concerns that its original purposes will be compromised by excessive new activities, particularly mountain biking.
We’ve chosen the name Save Open Space Boulder, and its acronym SOS, because we believe that there is an emergency for our Open Space. There is a proposal on the table right now that would allow mountain biking on some of the most heavily used hiking trails in Boulder, linking Chatauqua to Eldorado Springs.
We believe mountain biking on popular hiking trails:
- poses a very serious safety risk to the many hikers, runners, children, allowed dogs, and others who use the trails today
- threatens to change the gentle hiking trails into high adrenalin mountain biking terrain that will no longer be suitable or enjoyable for many current users
- will likely attract a high volume of car traffic – changing the very nature of many quiet neighborhoods
We are equally concerned about an alternative proposal to create new trails solely for mountain biking through this same area (rather than share exisitng trails). These new trails would scar the landscape, destroy environmentally sensitive areas, and substantially increase maintenance and enforcement costs.
These proposals are currently being considered by the Community Collaborative Group (CCG) — a group created by the City to consider changes to an area of Open Space known as the West Trail Study Area (WestTSA).
City and Open Space officials need to hear your voice. This is your chance to protect our City’s greatest and most fragile asset — Open Space.
For more information, please review the website, SOSboulder.org, or send us an e-mail at info@sosboulder.org.
Also check out the part of the official Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks website that tracks the WestTSA activities.
Thanks for your help.
